ChemFinity Technologies
710 Parkside Ave, Brooklyn, NY, 11226-1508, USA
Overview
ChemFinity Technologies has developed proprietary, atomically tunable sorbents and modular recovery systems that selectively capture over 20 targeted minerals from low-grade, complex waste streams. Its platform is designed for low-cost, energy-efficient, and durable refinements that produce market-grade purity for metals including platinum-group elements, rare earths, copper, and even PFAS. The company says its sorbents offer record-breaking recovery efficiencies and fast reaction kinetics that outperform conventional methods while using minimal energy and water. ChemFinity has scaled its technology 1,000x from lab beakers to pilot reactors and is engaged in projects with recyclers and refiners to recover metals from catalytic converters, spent solar panels, mining feedstocks, and wastewaters. With the new funding it plans to scale production, expand its team, and deploy pilot systems that integrate into existing infrastructure. The company was spun out of research in Prof. Jeffrey Long's lab at UC Berkeley in late 2022 and is based in New York City, with hiring planned in Brooklyn, NY.
