Cinclus Pharma is a Swedish late-stage biopharmaceutical company developing small molecules to treat gastric acid–related diseases. Its lead candidate, linaprazan glurate, is a potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) aimed at patients unresponsive to proton pump inhibitors and for use in H. pylori eradication. Cinclus Pharma Holding AB is advancing X842, a clinical-stage drug candidate for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). X842 is based on a substance initially developed by AstraZeneca and has demonstrated a favorable safety profile and pharmacokinetic characteristics in a Phase 1 study and studies including over 2,500 individuals. The company plans to use the financing to perform a Phase 2 clinical trial expected to start in the second half of 2020, cover operating costs and carry out activities to ready the program for a pivotal Phase 3 trial.
