CitizenShipper operates a peer-to-peer, auction-style online shipping marketplace that matches customers needing shipments with drivers, haulers and transporters throughout the United States and Canada. Launched in 2008 and based in Austin, TX, the platform was originally designed to connect people with others already traveling toward a desired destination. The company has joined the Capital Factory tech incubator and is led by CEO Richard Obousy. CitizenShipper serves more than 80,000 members and has completed its 30,000th shipment. Since inception the platform has handled nearly $15 million in total listings across a range of items from vehicles and boats to antiques and pets.
