Founded in 2024 and based in Colorado Springs, Citra Space was started by former U.S. Space Force and Air Force officers with operational experience in space domain awareness and orbital operations. The company develops space object identification (SOI) and characterization capabilities that merge multiple independent space- and ground-based data sources to create persistent fingerprints and behavioral profiles of on-orbit objects. Citra aims to provide operators a consistent and defensible basis for identifying and characterizing object activity, addressing both identification and characterization gaps. Its customers include both government and commercial space operators. Citra recently closed a $15 million Series A to advance development and deployment of its technology. The company plans to use the proceeds to accelerate delivery of working products for its partners.
