Clarify offers a developer-focused platform that ingests audio and video files, extracts spoken words and associated metadata, and indexes them for search and analytics. Developers can embed audio and video search into mobile and web applications with a few lines of code and use a search interface to discover when particular words were spoken. The capability targets applications in telecom, financial services and education. The platform launched in September 2014 and is led by co-founder and CEO Paul Murphy. To date, over 400 companies have signed up to build on the Clarify API. The company recently closed a $1M seed financing to continue engineering the core platform, support early customers, and grow in key markets.
