Clarix Imaging

1114 W Fulton Market Suite 300, Chicago, IL, 60607, United States

Overview

Clarix Imaging is an NIH-funded, venture-backed medical technology company founded by imaging scientists from the University of Chicago that develops point-of-care volumetric specimen imaging. Its flagship, FDA-cleared Volumetric Specimen Imager (VSI-360) is a portable 3D imaging platform that delivers high, isotropic-resolution images with reduced scan times for use in the operating room. The system enables rapid verification of excised tissue during lumpectomies and aims to reduce re-excisions by providing clear margin visualization compatible with surgical workflow. Clarix has commercialized the VSI-360 and reports a surge in demand since commercialization; it is also building a growing library of 3D breast cancer images that could support future AI-driven applications and research. The company plans to use new financing to increase production, broaden clinical use cases beyond breast cancer, and pursue expansion into U.S. and international markets. Financially, Clarix recently received a $10 million financing from kineo finance and is preparing an upcoming equity financing round to further support growth and development.
