Cloud Cruiser, founded in 2010, has built a management platform that integrates with enterprise public and private cloud services to keep a running tally of usage and costs. The dashboard lets businesses set budgets, track spend across users and groups, provision new services, allocate them to individuals, and perform chargeback. It provides granular reporting and alerts when spending hits thresholds to help enterprises optimize cloud costs. The company reports more than 200 end customers and has recently struck partnerships with HP (for HP CloudSystem), Microsoft (for SystemCenter), and a reseller agreement with Seamless Technologies. Founders Dave Zabrowski and Greg Howard bring networking and chargeback experience from roles at HP, Neterion, CIMS Lab/IBM, and Wavepoint Ventures. Financially, Cloud Cruiser has raised $6M in a Series B and $7.6M in total since being founded. Cloud Cruiser is a San Francisco-based cloud computing startup focused on eliminating problems for cloud service providers and enterprises implementing virtualization and cloud computing infrastructure. The company says its work aims to enhance adoption of cloud computing through product offerings, but it remains in stealth mode. Cloud Cruiser closed a Series A financing led by Wavepoint Ventures with participation from existing angel investors. The announcement did not disclose the financing amount. Wavepoint Managing Director Peter Gardner said the firm targets capital-efficient businesses that solve high-priority problems in rapidly changing markets and views Cloud Cruiser as positioned to be a potential market leader. Founder and CEO Dave Zabrowski confirmed the company is in stealth and said product announcements will be made in the future.
