Overview
Cloverly is an Atlanta, GA–based provider of a technology-powered climate action platform that functions as digital infrastructure for the voluntary carbon markets. The platform is used by more than 200 enterprises worldwide across financial services, technology, ESG/carbon accounting, supply chain, and eCommerce, and it supports project developers and suppliers managing carbon credit operations. The company raised $19M in a Series A to accelerate development of its digital infrastructure, including a new supplier platform. Cloverly intends to use the funds to triple its team and to launch a second headquarters in London. The raise positions the company to expand its product and supplier capabilities within voluntary carbon markets. Cloverly offers an API that measures carbon emissions from various business activities and automates the purchase of carbon offsets while providing comprehensive reporting. The API is designed to be flexible for different customers and, once integrated, operates automatically. Cloverly monitors public offset markets to ensure sources are credible and adds new ones as they develop. The company says it works with over 600 brands that have offset more than 55 million pounds of carbon to date. The API was conceived by founder Anthony Oni while at Southern Company and spun out on Earth Day 2019. Oni has stepped back from day-to-day operations and former eBay executive Jason Rubottom has been hired as CEO; Oni will remain on the board as an advisor.
