CMBlu Energy AG
Industriestrasse 19, Alzenau, Bayern, 63755, Germany
Overview
CMBlu Energy develops SolidFlow, a non‑lithium long‑duration battery architecture that uses non‑flammable, water‑based electrolytes and proprietary solid energy storage materials to decouple power from energy capacity and enable multi‑hour, infrastructure‑grade storage. The system is built from earth‑abundant, recyclable materials and is engineered to deliver ten hours or more of dispatchable energy for applications such as data centers and utilities. CMBlu operates an automated gigafactory in Alzenau and is planning additional manufacturing facilities in the United States and Greece to support localized supply chains. Founded in 2014, the company employs more than 250 people, including over 150 scientists and engineers. CMBlu has secured a 5 GWh framework agreement with Uniper, and the company recently crossed a €1 billion valuation following a €50 million Series C initial close, reflecting accelerating commercial momentum.
