CocoTaps, founded in 2014 and headquartered in Las Vegas, produces a zero-waste, ocean-biodegradable and resealable fresh coconut beverage system. Its products are manufactured in the United States and the company sells tool kits and custom-branded coconuts online and through resorts, retail stores, and restaurants. In 2018 CocoTaps earned TRUE Zero Waste certification and is certified by the National Minority Supplier Development Council as a Minority Business Enterprise. The company says its proprietary zero-waste food and beverage systems can create jobs and help communities worldwide. As part of growth plans it intends to bring its coconut innovations to Puerto Rico and build ecosystems and zero-waste jobs in many communities. Financially, CocoTaps has accepted a lead investment from Unicorn Ventures as part of a $1.0M equity round scheduled to close on November 11, 2020.
