Coffeeco Upcycle
Patras Industrial Areas, Olenia OF 37 - 38, Patras, Akhaia, 25200, Greece
Overview
Coffeeco Upcycle uses a proprietary, chemical-free extraction technology to recover antioxidant-rich compounds and natural fibres from spent coffee grounds to make the Auraskin skincare line and experimental bioplastics. Auraskin is sold through a ‘skincare-to-go’ model in coffee shops and is available at over 90 locations across Greece, Cyprus, Madrid, London, Romania, and Boston. The company currently processes over 10 tons of spent coffee grounds per month and plans to scale to 22 tons monthly via a vertically integrated supply chain from waste collection to finished product. Future plans focus on international expansion across the UK and US, broader Auraskin rollouts (new formats like hand creams and face mists), stronger B2B partnerships with coffee chains, and continued bioplastics R&D. Financially, Coffeeco announced a €715,000 first close of a €1M Seed Round at a €6.6M valuation, with remaining capital still available. The founders, Alexis Pantziaros and Marios Vlachogiannis, launched the company in 2021 and emphasize scaling, certifications, and further R&D with the new funding.
