The company was founded in 2021 by Jakob Sadoun and Kaspar Filipp. Its marketplace model targets the mismatch between vehicle availability and demand in commercial logistics. The startup recently launched a feature that adds payment security via an external payments partner. Leadership says demand for commercial vehicle sharing increased in the first half of the year and expects that trend to continue. Colonia completed a €6 million Seed financing to support growth and expand its platform across Europe.
