Overview

Community Gaming operates an esports competition platform that provides infrastructure and UX for players, competition organizers, and game developers, and integrates blockchain payment technology. The platform equips stakeholders with tools to create, facilitate, and participate in esports tournaments. The company is led by CEO Chris Gonsalves and is based in New York. By early 2022 the platform had reached 100,000 unique registered users. Community Gaming plans a major platform update later this year that will allow users to earn supplemental income on the blockchain through gamified 'Quests'. It recently closed a $16M Series A to support growth and operations expansion. Community Gaming provides a web app for registration, tournament bracket management, and player payments using distributed ledger technology and credit-card fiat-to-crypto onboarding. Organizers can create tournaments in under five minutes by connecting or generating a non-custodial wallet; payouts are automatically sent to winners’ connected wallets at tournament end. The platform supports Ethereum mainnet, Binance Smart Chain, and Polygon with fees as low as 1/50 of a penny. The team’s project was born from founders hosting LAN tournaments in New York City since 2017 and launched in late 2019. The company plans to expand into Latin America and South East Asia and build a rewards program and more complex smart contracts for league play. Community Gaming recently completed a seed financing to accelerate product and market expansion.
