Overview
Compass operates a suite of tourism-focused services that include its "Japan Wonder Travel" guided tours for inbound visitors, the accommodation management platform "COMPASS STAY," and the nationwide kimono rental chain "wargo." To build an end-to-end visitor experience, the company also provides optional tour planning, tourism consulting, and has recently expanded into transportation by fully acquiring mobility operators Cab Station and Autec—its eighth M&A transaction to date. Compass’ strategy is to create a seamless ecosystem covering lodging, transit, and activities for both domestic and international travelers. The newly raised funds will be allocated to additional M&A activity, as well as equipment, software development, and recruitment to scale its offerings. Including the latest Series B proceeds and loan, Compass has secured roughly ¥2.8 billion in total capital. The company sees these investments as a springboard to accelerate growth across its hotel operations, experiential services, and regional production businesses.
