Overview
Concentric offers an autonomous data-security platform called Semantic Intelligence™ that uses deep learning, Risk Distance™ analysis, and Concentric MIND for AI-assisted model and policy management to discover, evaluate, and remediate risks across cloud and on‑premises data. The solution targets both structured and unstructured content and is used to protect IP, financial documents, PII/PCI, customer data, and other business‑confidential information. Concentric emphasizes automation to reduce reliance on large analyst teams and cites automation’s impact on lowering breach costs. The company says its technology requires less upfront rules or complex configuration compared with traditional approaches. With the Series A financing, Concentric plans to grow its corporate customer base through expanded sales and marketing and to extend its product to cover additional content types, locations, and use cases. It targets the $19B market for data security, access governance, and loss prevention. Concentric offers a Semantic Intelligence solution that leverages deep learning to develop a semantic understanding of unstructured documents and quantify their risk. The product discovers, categorizes and classifies business-critical files across on-premises and cloud stores, and includes native remediation capabilities to proactively fix risky sharing and classification issues. Enterprise customers using Concentric have uncovered millions of unprotected or inappropriately shared documents; the company’s report cites averages of nearly 10 million documents per business, 1.2 million business-critical documents, over 15% of those at risk, non-C-suite employees having access to 90% of business-critical documents, and about 200,000 overshared files (roughly 40 files per employee). The solution integrates with major third-party security tools and data stores to leverage existing security investments. Concentric positions itself as an autonomous layer of data security intelligence to help meet compliance, privacy and risk-management mandates. The company announced a $7.5 million financing from institutional investors as it came out of stealth.
