Overview

Conduit provides engagement solutions for web and mobile publishers, including community toolbars, mobile apps, notifications and web bars. Founded in 2005, the company has been described as Israel’s first billion-dollar internet company and the release was issued from Foster City, Calif. Its network includes more than 260,000 publishers and roughly 250 million users, generating billions of monthly interactions. Major brands such as Major League Baseball, Groupon, Fox News, Travelocity, and The Weather Channel use Conduit’s free solutions. Management says the company will continue to grow its suite of engagement products and that the coming months will be important for Conduit’s development. The company recently confirmed that an investment fund advised by J.P. Morgan Asset Management has agreed to acquire about a 7% stake—approximately $100 million—at a $1.3 billion valuation. Conduit is an Israel-based provider of Web community toolbars. Its service enables web publishers to create, promote and maintain a community toolbar without needing complex software. The toolbars are designed to drive traffic to publishers' sites. Some 140,000 publishers have joined the Conduit network worldwide, including Fox News, Lufthansa, Greenpeace, and TechCrunch. Conduit has raised $8M from Benchmark Capital to upgrade its offering. Conduit offers a white-label, customizable toolbar that partners can brand with logos, live chat, broadcasts and other functionality. Partners and communities can create a tailored toolbar in a few steps and host it at a custom subdomain for free. The service supports revenue sharing for searches conducted via the toolbar. Conduit reports strong traction with 125,000 partners and 5,000,000 toolbar installs. The company recently struck a deal with Google to provide search for its toolbar product, a partnership said to help Conduit with revenue. Conduit has raised $2 million in funding from Israeli venture firm Yozma.
