Overview
Constant Therapy offers mobile applications that deliver continuous, customized therapy for speech, language, cognition, memory and learning disorders. Founded in 2013 by Boston University professor Swathi Kiran and led by CEO Keith Cooper, the company is based in Boston, MA. Its therapeutic library includes 65 science-based therapy categories and more than 60,000 exercises. The product supports traumatic brain injury and stroke survivors, people with aphasia or dementia, and children with learning disabilities. Healthcare organizations using the platform include Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, the Stroke Comeback Center and The MossRehab Aphasia Center. The company plans to use new funding to expand scientific research, data, marketing and product development. Constant Therapy offers a cloud-based, iPad-delivered cognitive-communication therapy platform that lets speech and language pathologists create, modify and monitor customized therapy programs remotely. The system encompasses more than 50 tasks and ten difficulty levels and can be adjusted as patients progress. The app is built on aphasia rehabilitation research conducted by Swathi Kiran at Boston University and is being tested in 50 patients there; the study is on track to wrap up mid-year. CEO and co-founder Veera Anantha said adoption has been growing 50 percent month-over-month, with thousands of people now using the app. A free trial is available in the App Store. To support continued development and marketing of the platform, the company recently secured outside funding.
