Cubigo provides an interactive online care platform that lets senior users access a wide range of services to continue living independently at home. The platform enables users to make doctor's appointments, set up video calls with family, read local news or events, track and share medical data, order meals, book home-service providers, and receive medication reminders. The company was founded in 2011 as a spin-off of the University of Hasselt by Geert Houben and Dr. Peter Willems. Cubigo has about 30 employees and maintains offices in Hasselt (Corda Campus), Venray in the Netherlands, and San Francisco in the United States. It raised €4m in funding and intends to use the proceeds for international expansion. Backers on the round included veteran entrepreneur and investor Urbain Vandeurzen and Transvision.
