Overview
Cue Health makes the Cue Health Monitoring System, a reusable cartridge reader and single-use test kit that connects to a mobile app to deliver molecular diagnostic results in about 20 minutes. Its first commercially deployed assay detects SARS-CoV-2 RNA from a lower-nasal swab and received FDA Emergency Use Authorization in June. The company is also developing at-home influenza tests and intends to broaden its menu to other infectious diseases. With newly secured government funding, Cue plans to reach a production capacity of 100,000 tests per day and supply six million COVID-19 tests by March. The platform’s real-time, connected design aims to give individuals greater control over their health data and enable rapid public-health response. Financially, Cue recently raised a $100 million Series C round to expand manufacturing and test development, and has long-standing support from BARDA for its flu and COVID-19 programs. The latest capital infusion positions the San Diego-based company to scale manufacturing infrastructure and gain a higher profile in the competitive rapid diagnostics market.
