1250 Prospect Street Ste 5, La Jolla, California, 92037, United States
Overview
Cybereason provides attack protection through its award-winning endpoint detection and response (EDR) technology alongside industry-recognized consulting services that support organizations across the incident lifecycle. The company offers managed services and expert-led consulting to help customers harden, respond to, and recover from cyber threats. Cybereason is privately held and headquartered in California, with customers in more than 40 countries. The business emphasizes its elite experts and technology to remain a trusted cybersecurity partner for enterprises worldwide. Recent funding is intended to advance the company’s global growth and reinforce its commitment to exceptional customer service. Cybereason also plans to expand a strategic relationship with Trustwave as part of its go-forward approach to managed security services. Cybereason offers the AI-driven Cybereason Defense Platform that provides predictive prevention, detection, and response against modern ransomware and advanced attack techniques. Its MalOp™ capability instantly delivers context-rich attack intelligence across every affected device, user, and system. The company partners with defenders to stop attacks at the endpoint, in the cloud, and across the enterprise ecosystem. Cybereason has customers in more than 40 countries. The company raised $100M in funding and said it will use the proceeds to grow and advance innovation in its XDR, EDR, and EPP solutions. Cybereason also announced that Eric Gan will serve as its new CEO, subject to board confirmation and customary regulatory approvals, while current CEO and co-founder Lior Div will transition to an advisor role. Cybereason offers an AI-powered, operation-centric Defense Platform that exposes and remediates entire malicious operations and tells the full attack story from root cause to impacted users and devices. The firm says this approach significantly reduces the time to investigate and recover from enterprisewide cyberattacks. Cybereason ended 2020 with over $120 million in annual recurring revenue, and attributes recent growth to its AI-driven technology. The company expanded its channel presence with a Defenders League program enabling partners to deploy its technology and services. Management says the $275 million will be used to fuel 'hypergrowth' driven by strong market demand and to accelerate go-to-market efforts in the federal sector. The company has positioned the round as likely its last before going public, and the raise was estimated in reporting to imply a valuation near $3 billion. Cybereason provides an endpoint detection and response platform that uses machine learning to increase the number of endpoints a single analyst can manage across distributed resources. Its technology processes and analyzes data in real time across an organization’s operations, flagging anomalous behavior across network nodes and surfacing root cause, timelines, actors, tools and data flows. The company also offers reporting tools to inform customers about breaches and support investigation and remediation. Over the last two years it has expanded to a network that spans 6 million endpoints and employs about 500 people, with offices in Boston, Tel Aviv, Tokyo and London. Cybereason intends to use new funding to accelerate sales and marketing globally and to push research and development toward more autonomous security operations. The company has been publicly credited with discovering large-scale attacks such as Operation SoftCell and other nation-state intrusions. Cybereason provides automated SaaS-based endpoint detection and response, next-generation antivirus, and managed monitoring services. Its platform uses a custom-built in-memory graph to detect behavioral patterns across every endpoint and surface malicious operations in a user-friendly interface. The company says its solutions have protected hundreds of Fortune 1000 companies from highly advanced attacks, including the global WannaCry ransomware attack. Cybereason will use the $100M Series D funding from SoftBank to expand growth through new distribution channels and to develop new technologies. Following the Series D the company has raised $189M in total from SoftBank and other investors such as CRV, Spark Capital and Lockheed Martin. Co-founded in 2012 by Yonatan Striem-Amit, Lior Div and Yossi Naar, the company is based in Boston and also has offices in London, Tel Aviv and Tokyo.
