CyDeploy

901 S. Bond Street. Suite 203, Baltimore, Maryland, 21231, United States

Overview

CyDeploy provides a platform that automates creation of digital twins and delivers on‑demand sandbox environments for security and functional testing. Its core product lets CIOs evaluate the functional impact of changes without touching production systems, reducing risk and deployment anxiety. The company positions that capability for both security testing and broader change-validation workflows. CyDeploy was founded by Tina Williams‑Koroma (CEO) with technical co‑founder and President of Engineering David Steadman. The company is based in Baltimore and is an active participant in the Techstars ’23 Equitech Accelerator. Financially, CyDeploy recently closed an oversubscribed $1.1M pre‑seed funding round to support product development and participation in the accelerator program. CyDeploy uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to create cloud-based replicas of a company’s systems so teams can test cybersecurity updates without risking production environments. The platform is intended to validate updates and configuration changes for IT systems and Internet of Things devices, including consumer devices and medical equipment. Founder Tina Williams-Koroma, an alum of UMBC and founder of cybersecurity risk firm TCecure, launched CyDeploy in 2019 after hearing clients ask what would break if they made security changes. In 2020 the company developed a paper prototype and in 2021 plans to begin piloting the product with enterprises and management service providers. CyDeploy is working with UMBC professor Anupam Joshi to develop the tool and is soliciting pilot participants via direct contact. The company estimates a five-year need of about $1.5 million to continue development and commercialization; it recently received a $90,000 grant to build a functioning prototype at UMBC.
