Overview
Delman is a Jakarta-based data management startup founded in 2018 by Surya Halim (CEO), Raymond Christopher (CPO) and Theo Budiyanto (CTO), who met at UC Berkeley. The company shifted from offering end-to-end big data analytics to focus on data preparation and management after client conversations revealed datasets were fragmented across multiple formats. Delman’s core product cleans, standardizes and prepares data to make it easier for data engineers and scientists to analyze, offering a lower-cost alternative to traditional data cleaning and warehousing (which some firms spend up to $200,000 on). It serves industry-agnostic clients including large corporations, consulting firms and government agencies; customers have included PWC and Qlue. The startup plans to use new funding to establish a research and development center and hire software engineers and data scientists. Management also expects to expand into other Southeast Asian markets as companies invest more in IT infrastructure amid COVID-19.
