Digantara

Floor 9, Brigade Senate 2, Hebbal - Kempapura, Bengaluru, Karnataka, 560094, India

Overview

Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Bengaluru, Digantara has developed a constellation concept that combines space-borne and ground-based infrared sensors with proprietary analytics to monitor orbital debris and detect missile launches. Its first surveillance satellite, SCOT, was launched in January aboard SpaceX’s Transporter-12 mission, enabling space-to-space observation. The company has since expanded into the U.S. with a Colorado Springs office supporting contracts with U.S. Space Command and selection onto the Missile Defense Agency’s SHIELD contract vehicle. Digantara operates a 25,000-square-foot facility in India capable of producing five satellites at once and plans a much larger plant that can build up to 30 satellites concurrently. Over the next two years it aims to deploy 15 satellites, add electro-optical and LiDAR payloads, and broaden its ground-station network. The startup has signed contracts worth roughly $25 million, grown revenue more than ten-fold in the past two years, and targets $25–$30 million in annual revenue within 18 months. Digantara employs about 125 people, and is allocating new capital to U.S. expansion, a planned European entity, and scaled manufacturing in India.
