Overview
DNEG Group, a subsidiary of Prime Focus Studios, provides visual effects, animation and associated creative services to Hollywood and global visual entertainment creators. The company is investing to evolve from a pure visual‑effects services provider into a sector‑agnostic content production and AI‑powered technology partner. The recent funding will be used to fully activate Brahma, its AI‑powered photoreal CGI creator intended to democratize photoreal content creation across multiple applications. The raise will also enable Prime Focus Studios to expand investment in and production of high‑quality content; the Group is currently co‑producing films including Animal Friends, an Indian epic Ramayana, and The Angry Birds Movie 3. DNEG plans to open a new office and visual experience hub in Abu Dhabi and develop a Middle East ecosystem for content production, storage, and distribution. Leadership will remain with Chairman and CEO Namit Malhotra, and the board will be joined by representatives from the investor and partner community. DNEG is a global visual effects (VFX) and animation studio that produces VFX for feature films, television and multiplatform content. The company employs nearly 7,000 people and maintains studios and offices across North America (Los Angeles, Montréal, Vancouver), Europe (London) and Asia (Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Mumbai). DNEG has won six Academy Awards for Best Visual Effects and numerous other industry awards, underscoring its reputation for high-quality work. With strong demand from streaming and OTT clients, the company is positioning to expand into adjacent categories including gaming and original intellectual property content development and production. The recent capital infusion is intended to help the Group streamline its structure and consolidate minority investments to support future growth. Namit Malhotra continues as Chairman and CEO and has increased his equity stake in the parent company.
