Douugh builds Sophie, an AI personal assistant/chatbot that links to users’ accounts to provide spending insights, automated saving, bill payments, money requests, and goal tracking. The startup has partnered with Choice Financial to take deposits and launch its own integrated bank account and debit card. Douugh closed a $2.5 million seed round to expand its US platform before rolling out in Australia and other markets via similar open‑banking partnerships. Founder and CEO Andy Taylor, who co‑founded SocietyOne, launched Douugh last year to focus on financial wellness through AI and machine learning. The company is developing an API product, Douugh Connect, to enable Sophie to coach users and execute financial tasks more cohesively and on autopilot. With the seed funding and the Choice Financial partnership, Douugh aims to use banking authorization to deliver more services and secure additional partners.
