Dream Industries runs Bookmate, a social reading service launched in 2010 by Simon Dunlop that offers a subscription model across mobile, tablet and web. The product includes social features for discovery, following, recommendations and reader interaction, and connects publishers and authors with new markets. Bookmate partners with mobile network operators, device manufacturers, online retailers and local governments to distribute content and monetize. The service reported 1.5 million active monthly users in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and other Russian-speaking markets. Its library contains over 400,000 books and the company works with more than 300 publishers globally. Dream Industries said it will use funding to support content acquisition and accelerate global expansion.
