Overview
Echandia develops and supplies advanced maritime battery systems for electrification, hybridization and full-electric propulsion of ferries, navy vessels and other heavy-duty marine applications where safety and resilience are critical. Since its founding in 2018 the company has delivered nearly 70 systems to global electrification projects and partners with leading shipyards and system integrators for newbuilds and retrofits. Echandia is scaling production capacity in Sweden and expanding into the US, including a new production facility in Washington State. The company says the SEK 220 million financing will fund global expansion and increased production capabilities. Echandia reported revenues grew fourfold in 2024 versus 2023 and expects revenues to triple in 2025, reflecting a growing sales pipeline. The business emphasizes safety, long-lasting systems and energy efficiency to support maritime decarbonization.
