Ecoat
1 Av. Louison Bobet, Grasse, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, 06130, France
Overview
Ecoat develops high-performance, water-based and bio-based binders that replace fossil-based polymers in decorative, wood, and metal paints. The company’s mission is to decarbonise paints and coatings, a sector responsible for roughly 2% of global industrial greenhouse gas emissions. Its technology offers low-carbon, bio-based alternatives to fossil-derived polymers and has been presented as cost-competitive by investors. The recent financing includes €18M in equity from Yotta Capital Partners, the European Circular Bioeconomy Fund (ECBF), and Starquest Capital, alongside government and debt support. France 2030 funding via ADEME and a debt package backed by Bpifrance and the company’s banking partners bring total investment to more than €21M. Ecoat will use the funds to scale production, expand its R&D team, operations and commercial development, and to accelerate expansion into international markets including the US and Asia.
