Ecobot is a cloud-based platform that automates and optimizes mandatory pre-construction environmental permitting for stakeholders in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. The product enables field data collection and uses that data to streamline mitigation banking, civil engineering workflows, and broader construction lifecycle improvements. Ecobot's platform lets engineers leverage field-collected data into a digital twin to improve resilience of the built environment. The company says customers have generated over 45,000 pre-construction environmental analysis reports using the platform to date. With the new capital, Ecobot plans to widen its scope of supported environmental permits and add project management tools and deeper integrations. The company also intends to add talent to support platform expansion and customer adoption. Ecobot offers software and services aimed at modernizing wetland environmental impact surveys, a market it says is worth about $10 billion. The company acquired Wetform and plans to aggressively expand beyond its base in North Carolina. Ecobot says it has 56 customers and targets the development and construction sector and engineering consulting firms. Its tools reduce field time by roughly two-and-a-half hours per person per day and cut office work on surveys from about 30 hours to 45 minutes. The company estimates large-project assessments can cost up to $1.25 million and says its software can save developers on the order of $50,000 per day. Ecobot was co-founded by CEO Lee Lance and wetlands scientist Jeremy Schewe and grew from a niche focus on wetland surveys before expanding into adjacent areas.
