EcoFlow makes li-ion portable power stations (notably the River) and sells them through retailers including Home Depot, Camping World, Amazon, HSN and its own website. The River is a 500-watt, 11-pound unit with multiple USB, USB-C, AC, DC and 12V outputs. The company launched via a 2016 Indiegogo campaign that raised $1 million and has since expanded retail distribution in the U.S. EcoFlow plans to launch two new products before year-end and to expand sales into Europe later this year. Management says component-maker investors help with supply access and cash-flow by allowing delayed payments, freeing capital for R&D, sales and marketing. The company is exploring second-life batteries and expects future cost declines as EV battery production scales.
