EcoVadis provides companies of all sizes with expert intelligence and evidence-based sustainability ratings, actionable scorecards, benchmarks, carbon action tools and insights to monitor and improve environmental, social and ethical performance. Its platform covers 200 industry categories and 175 countries and is used by about 95,000 businesses, including Amazon, Johnson & Johnson, L'Oréal, Unilever, LVMH, Salesforce, Bridgestone, BASF and JPMorgan. The company announced $500M in new funding and intends to use the proceeds to accelerate its global scale-up, deepen its artificial intelligence and machine-learning capabilities, and pursue strategic acquisitions. EcoVadis guides improvement journeys for environmental, social and ethical practices across companies and their trading partners. It operates offices across France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Canada, Tunisia, Mauritius, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia and Spain. The funding was reported on June 14, 2022. EcoVadis operates an evidence-based sustainability ratings and supplier engagement platform backed by a global team of CSR analysts and a single assessment methodology. Its scorecards provide insight into environmental, social and ethical risks across 198 purchasing categories and 155 countries. More than 450 enterprises—representing over $2.5 trillion in business spending—use EcoVadis’ ratings; the company’s network exceeds 60,000 assessed companies. In 2019 EcoVadis added 10,000 companies and opened offices in Tokyo, San Francisco and Melbourne. The company plans to use the funding to scale globally, expand into new countries, and further invest in its technology platform, sustainability intelligence solutions and its network of rated companies. Management emphasizes embedding sustainability, fair labor practices and ethics into enterprise supply chains and business commerce. EcoVadis provides sustainability ratings and performance-improvement tools for global supply chains through a collaborative platform. Led by co-CEOs Pierre-François Thaler and Frédéric Trinel, the company offers CSR scorecards that let companies monitor suppliers’ environmental, ethical and social practices across 150 purchasing categories and 110 countries. The company employs 320 professionals worldwide. EcoVadis raised €30m in its first institutional funding round, led by Partech Ventures. It plans to use the funds to accelerate worldwide adoption of its supplier CSR ratings, advance the reliability and value of its ratings, and further invest in the platform's core technologies via in-house R&D and partnerships with tech startups.
