Overview

eduClipper provides teachers and students a Pinterest-like platform tailored for education where users create and share individual eduClips and collections called eduClipboards. The product includes a bookmarklet (compatible with modern browsers) that captures content from the web, Google Drive and Google Apps while automatically saving source links for citation. Teachers can share clipboards, form groups, align content to Common Core Standards, and collaborate in real time on class assignments; the platform also supports public and private community curation to build K–12 learning portfolios. During alpha testing over 35,000 teachers created accounts and 300 classrooms used the site over a recent two-week period. The startup plans to develop mobile apps and extend integrations with services such as YouTube, Slideshare and Prezi to make the platform more extensible for teachers. eduClipper faces competition from services like EduCanvas, Clipboard (acquired by Salesforce) and Learnist/Grockit but aims to differentiate through education-specific features, data portability and open integrations.
