Emérita Legal is a Spanish legaltech that analyzes judicial data using AI and advanced statistical algorithmic techniques to rank lawyers and law firms by judicial performance. The platform has reviewed more than 8 million court cases to provide an objective, independent evaluation of legal professionals. In its first year on the market it organically attracted more than 1 million unique users to its website. The company recently launched a Law Firm Ranking product aiming to become the most objective European‑wide rating system and to increase transparency in the sector. Emérita is taking first steps to expand into Italy while aiming to consolidate its position as the reference provider in Spain. CEO Antonio Padín emphasizes that the platform demonstrates specialization, experience and effectiveness through judicial data rather than self‑reported claims. Emérita Legal, founded in 2017 by Galician entrepreneurs, operates Spain’s first analytics and judicial rating platform, launched in January 2019. The product aggregates judicial Big Data and applies an in-house algorithm (IRJ) to rank lawyers and surface information about courts, judges and specific cases. Since launch it has grown mainly organically, recording more than 250,000 single users and over 1,400 lawyers signed up to its rankings. The company was named best legaltech startup in 2019 by the Consejo General de la Abogacía Española in partnership with Mobile World Capital Barcelona. Over the next 12 months Emérita plans to add new Premium features, develop additional products (courts, judges, enterprises) and expand into France and Italy to strengthen its database impact and lawyers’ financial projections. Its stated aim is to be the reference source for judicial information and increase transparency in the legal sector through AI-driven data products.
