Emoticast is a London-based mobile messaging provider for the entertainment industry offering TuneMoji apps and bots for iOS and Android. The product lets users share music GIFs with sound from top artists across messaging platforms including iMessage, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Kik, Skype, Telegram and Viber. The company has secured global rights to extensive music collections through partnerships with major music labels, publishers and entertainment companies. Emoticast intends to use the funds to grow its partners in music and other entertainment fields, increase original content collaborations with artists, and expand its messaging partner network. The company was founded by music industry entrepreneur James Fabricant, former Head MySpace Europe. Emoticast raised $5m in funding. Emoticast is a London-based app development and design studio co-founded in 2014 by James Fabricant (CEO) and Bobby Simms (COO). It owns, operates and develops TuneMoji, a music emoji store intended to bring licensed music clips into emoji messaging. TuneMoji is due for launch in 2015 and will enable Facebook Messenger’s 700M users to “say it with a song” via clips from hit records. The company plans to use the seed funds to bring TuneMoji to market later this year. Emoticast also has a presence in Los Angeles alongside its London base. Its core product combines licensed music, emojis and messaging platforms for consumer distribution.
