Emovo Care builds accessible robotic devices to bring movement home for people with hand-motor impairments. Its first product, Emovo Assist, is a portable, lightweight hand orthosis designed for stroke patients to enable grasping and releasing objects. The core technology was developed during a PhD at EPFL and the company operates from offices in Le Garage next to EPFL. The team was two employees as of July 2021. Emovo plans to move toward eHealth and telerehabilitation in the future. Financially, the company had raised CHF 750K as of July 2021 and was preparing fundraising activities tied to the Venture Leaders Medtech roadshow.
