Overview
Fourth Partner Energy develops and deploys greenfield renewable generation capacity to supply power to commercial and industrial (C&I) customers. British International Investment’s $47 million follow-on commitment will fund about 294 MW of new projects across India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Vietnam. The added capacity is expected to increase supply to the company’s C&I customers and avoid nearly 400,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. The financing is part of broader efforts to promote clean energy alternatives to coal across South and Southeast Asia. Financially, the latest $47 million commitment brings BII’s total exposure to Fourth Partner Energy to $80 million. The company’s near-term plans, as described in the articles, center on scaling renewable generation to accelerate the region’s energy transition.
