enercast developed a forecast algorithm in collaboration with Fraunhofer IWES that integrates renewable energies (wind and solar) into the electricity supply and delivers location-specific generation forecasts at 15-minute intervals. The service ingests meteorological inputs such as wind speed, air pressure and temperature as well as measured power data from wind turbines. For photovoltaics the company uses satellite irradiation images and data from more than 36,000 photovoltaic systems from SMA Solar Technology AG. Led by CEO Thomas Landgraf and based in Kassel, Germany, enercast positions its product for grid integration and operational planning. The company is to receive up to €2.25M in first funding to support technical advancement and network expansion. Backers include Innogy Venture Capital and High‑Tech Gründerfonds.
