Energy Micro is an Oslo, Norway–based developer and supplier of energy-friendly microcontrollers. Its core product portfolio focuses on low-power microcontrollers. The company plans to develop and bring to market a family of energy-friendly radio products and to expand its organisation and sales channels. Energy Micro secured $13m in its first funding round. The capital will enable continued development of its microcontroller product portfolio, the radio product family, and expansion to support future high growth. In conjunction with the round, Steinar Fossen, Investment Director of Investinor, joined Energy Micro’s board of directors.
