Energy Points has launched the EnergyPoints™ platform, a cloud-based SaaS calculation engine that converts multiple sustainability domains (electricity, water, transportation, etc.) into a single universal metric — the equivalent of the embodied energy of one gallon of gasoline. The platform combines proprietary analytics algorithms with GIS and temporal data to normalize local energy mixes and resource scarcity, then presents results through a visual-analytics portal for non-technical executives. By providing a single, comparable unit of measure, the product aims to enable fact-based sustainability project comparisons and clearer corporate sustainability communication. The company positions the metric to help businesses, utilities and ESCOs estimate environmental footprints, measure exposure to changing energy markets, and prioritize projects by financial and environmental ROI. Energy Points plans to use new financing to launch and accelerate adoption of the EnergyPoints platform. The company was founded in 2011 by Dr. Ory Zik and co-founded by Roy Stein and is headquartered in Cambridge, Mass.
