Energy Source provides repair, reuse and recycling solutions for lithium batteries and supplies second-life stationary lithium batteries for solar, telecom, security systems and other applications. The company is led by CEO and founder David Noronha and is based in São João da Boa Vista, São Paulo, Brazil. It plans to use the USD1.2M investment from InMotion Ventures to accelerate growth and expand its footprint to serve more international clients. Over the last seven years Energy Source produced approximately 10 MWh of batteries, recycled 700 tons of non-reusable batteries and repaired another 5 tons. The company says these activities have prevented about 1,600 tons of carbon emissions. Management cited a partnership with JLR and InMotion Ventures as a pathway to scale its impact on fleet electrification and the electronics industry.
