Energy X operates a Seoul-headquartered marketplace that enables the construction of zero-energy and sustainable buildings, covering services from architectural design to construction completion. Founded in 2019 by co-CEOs Sean Park and Tom Hong, the company serves building owners, construction companies and architects and counts Hyundai, Naver and Lotte among its clients. Beyond the marketplace, Energy X develops energy technologies including building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), HVAC efficiency solutions and a cloud-based, AI-managed building energy management system (BEMS). Since inception the startup says it has sealed 573 deals, representing an estimated 1.6 trillion won (~$1.3 billion) in construction value. The company currently employs 86 people and plans to grow headcount to 200 this year while launching operations in Japan with an office opening in February. Energy X is using recent financing to expand its marketplace and energy-efficiency technology offerings.
