EngageSciences is developing a "social nurturing" application that gathers everything said about a company online into a single stream. The platform, currently in private beta, flags up quotes, kudos and customer advocacy from a wide range of sources and has been described as a "Flipboard for business." That social proof can be streamed into multiple advertising display units across a brand's site and ad networks to showcase promotions and fans. The startup positions itself against tactical vendors that focus on Likes or one-off contests by emphasizing longer-term user retention. EngageSciences began developing the application in December and aims to build its service around the social nurturing concept. The company was founded in late 2009 by Richard Jones, Lee Shepstone and Iain Short and is headquartered in Oxford, United Kingdom; it recently closed a $750,000 angel round from private UK and European investors.
