Engie
Brenner 18/10, Tel Aviv, 638263, Israel
Overview
Engie sells a diagnostics "card" (priced at about $10 in Israel) that plugs into a car and, via the Engie app, translates onboard diagnostic data into user-friendly fault and maintenance information. The company pairs that diagnostic output with an after-market mechanic marketplace that includes TripAdvisor-style reviews and price comparisons for parts and labor. Engie has rolled the product out country-wide in Israel and has amassed just shy of 100,000 customers and 200 mechanic shops on its platform. Its diagnostics technology is patent pending and the hardware has proven popular with mechanics as well as drivers. The startup plans to expand into the U.K. and U.S. markets. Yarden Gross is co-founder and CEO and Uri Levine (co-founder of Waze) serves as Engie’s chairperson.
