Enigma Diagnostics develops and commercializes the Enigma Mini Laboratory (Enigma ML), a fully automated point-of-care molecular diagnostic system combining real-time PCR speed and sensitivity with simplicity for laboratory and decentralized testing. The Enigma ML supports highly accurate, multiplexed DNA and RNA assays with fast turnaround, on-board data handling, networking capability and demonstrated nil operator variance in trials. The system is designed as a hybrid laboratory and stand-alone platform for developed and emerging healthcare programs, enabling multi-site testing while reducing traditional laboratory costs and physician constraints. Enigma is targeting high-growth infectious disease markets with a pipeline of assays for respiratory diseases, hospital-acquired infections and sexually transmitted diseases. The company benefits from a global manufacturing and supply chain to enable scalable volume manufacture. Financially, Enigma signed a US$50 million subscription agreement to support global commercialization of the Enigma ML following its CE marking in early 2014.
