Enigma

San Francisco, California, United States, North America

Overview

Enigma develops proprietary robotic arms and the underlying AI models and runs a public experiment that lets people interact online with more than 100 of its robots. The company says it built both its hardware and models from the ground up and operates hangars in Israel and California where the robots perform tasks ranging from drawing with a paintbrush to simple chemistry experiments. Enigma was co-founded by Jonathan Jacobi and Gal Niv, who previously served together in Israel’s Unit 8200, and has recruited talent from top AI labs and Israel’s tech ecosystem. The startup launched from stealth after being founded less than a year prior to the report and is running large-scale tests to learn how humans prefer to communicate with robots. Enigma has partnerships underway with companies in healthcare, logistics, and entertainment and is using its seed funding to scale its experiments and technology development.
