Overview
Enpower focuses on research and development of next-generation batteries and core materials, including lithium metal and all-solid-state batteries. The company says it integrates resources across China, Japan and the United States to build independent innovation capability and efficient execution. Enpower maintains long-term R&D partnerships with Nobel laureate Professor John Goodenough (UT‑Austin) and Professor Ryoji Kanno (Tokyo Institute of Technology). It also has strategic cooperative relationships with more than 20 upstream, midstream and downstream enterprises to advance industrialization and application of its technologies. In October 2021 Enpower released a lithium metal battery sample reported at 520 Wh/kg, 1100 Wh/L and 3600 mAh, with third-party testing in China and Japan (including Softbank) confirming performance. The company planned trial production in 2022 of soft-packed cells above 10 Ah and is pushing toward commercialization of ultra-high specific energy lithium metal batteries.
