Overview
enSilo builds a security platform that operates on the assumption that networks are already compromised and focuses on preventing attackers from manipulating or exfiltrating data. The company says its approach provides immediate, preemptive prevention against targeted-attack consequences without lengthy OPEX-heavy learning periods or complex behavioral analysis. CEO Roy Katmor framed the product as allowing business as usual even if attackers are already inside. enSilo recently received an additional $9 million cash infusion, bringing its Series A to $19 million. The new capital will be used to increase sales and marketing spending and to reinvest in product development. Previous investors Carmel Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners doubled down on their commitments as part of the round. Rembrandt Venture Partners led the latest tranche. enSilo provides a real-time platform that detects and prevents data exfiltration by distinguishing legitimate connections from malicious ones at connection establishment. Its solution blocks malicious outbound communications, generates a single alert per active threat, and enables employees to continue working while compromises are resolved. The platform also offers virtual patching against advanced targeted threats. enSilo was founded in 2014 and emerged from stealth in March 2015. The company disclosed a Windows vulnerability it discovered and reported to Microsoft, which released a patch in February 2015. The new funding will support expansion of global operations, with particular focus on the North American market and opening U.S. West Coast offices. enSilo, founded in 2014 and led by CEO Roy Katmor, has developed a real-time, application-agnostic data exfiltration prevention platform. The platform analyzes communication requests at the operating system level and enforces anti-exfiltration policies at connection establishment. It is designed to enable organizations across verticals to prevent business-critical data from being stolen by advanced attackers. The company has launched into the international cybersecurity market. enSilo announced a seed funding round from Carmel Ventures; the amount of the round was not disclosed, and Carmel Ventures partner Ronen Nir joined the company’s board.
