Enswers develops automatic content recognition (ACR) technology and a media-discovery product called Imideo that finds videos from screenshots. The company has provided ACR for Samsung Smart TVs sold in the U.S. since 2012 and offers Imideo on Galaxy devices in Korea. Enswers has formed content partnerships with broadcasters such as SBS and TBS and with Yahoo!7 in Australia to create second-screen and engagement experiences. It launched in the U.S. recently and plans to use the new funding to expand across the U.S. and North America while applying the same business strategies it used in Asia. Enswers differentiates from competitors like Shazam by offering an SDK for developers instead of consumer apps and says it will explore a wide range of industries and creative ACR applications. The company was founded in 2007 and is an independent subsidiary of KT.
