Entropy
228 Park Avenue South, New York, NY, 10003, United States
Overview
Entropy builds a decentralized self-custody protocol that leverages multiparty computation to enable cryptographic signing and storage of digital assets. The protocol lets users deposit and use cryptocurrencies across any blockchain and supports rules like time-gated constraints, which are useful for DAOs and decentralized institutions. Entropy intentionally does not provide a user-facing wallet and instead functions as a signing layer comparable to Google Authenticator that other products can build on. The company was founded last year and is based in Brooklyn, New York; CEO Tux Pacific previously worked at NuCypher in Berlin and the team comprises nine people. Financially, Entropy completed a $25 million seed round following a $1.95 million pre-seed in January. Pacific says the startup is prioritizing product development and has not yet settled on a business model or monetization strategy.
