Envisia Therapeutics is a Research Triangle Park-based clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing novel extended-release therapies in ophthalmology. Its lead candidate, ENV515, is a biodegradable formulation of the prostaglandin analog travoprost designed to lower intraocular pressure for more than six months from a single dose. ENV515 is in phase 2 testing, with enrollment completed in the second cohort and safety and efficacy data expected in May 2016; a high-dose cohort was expected to enter clinical testing in mid-2016. The company also pursues programs in diabetic macular edema (ENV1105) and age-related macular degeneration. The company is building a pipeline of small‑ and large‑molecule particle formulations and has assembled an ophthalmology research and development team to advance those programs. Envisia was formed by Liquidia Technologies in 2013 and is located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The company is privately held and announced a $25 million Series A financing to support advancement of ENV515 and follow‑on programs.
